Road and mountain biking in the mountains of Andalucia

How many times have you come back from a ride at home in the UK and been forced to recount tales of  "being cut up" by another stupid motorist or getting into an argument with some irate bus driver who thinks you don't have the right to be on the road? Any of this ring a bell?

Come and ride on Andalucia's endless traffic-free roads with drivers who (on the whole) show respect for cyclists. There are miles of good quality roads to ride (EU money over the last 10 years has led to dramatic improvements in Spanish highways) taking in some breathtaking scenery.

Andalucia is one of Europe's most mountainous areas so you will need some low gears. However, your hard efforts will be rewarded with some of the best riding to be found anywhere in Spain. Steep climbs and dramatic descents through stunning lanscapes of mountains, gorges and lakes make for memorable days out. You will be inspired by the sheer quality of light and sunshine on your back.

We can offer you suggested routes with maps to suit all abilities, with rides from 46km to 146 km. If you require picking up or dropping off somewhere this can be arranged.

If you want to get off-road this is open country and ideal for mountain biking as there are many tracks and trails to discover. Mountain biking is very popular in this region amongst Spaniards and foreigners alike. Again we can suggest local routes, but in addition we recommend a booklet called Bicicleta, available from the tourist office. This contains lots of MTB routes throughout Andalucia.

In 2006 the Tour of Spain started in Malaga, and the route of the first stage took the race past our village.

We also offer safe and secure storage for bikes and the use of tools. A discount of 10% is available for larger groups and club members; please visit our Special Offers page or contact us for further information.
